Necessary demands when using chicken cage

Poultry rearing revolves around development i.e. there are developmental stages in poultry farming. Before you have your layer birds, it starts from hatching, then you have chicks or pullets before you now have layers which are purposely reared for egg production. Chicken cages for layers are specially designed for them so that they may have a successful laying period, there is a place the egg will roll to so as to avoid breakage. This means that ones the hen lays, it does not have access to it again till the workers come for packing or if it’s an automatic cage ,the belt conveyor will roll it to the appropriate place. During the rearing and growing period for breeder stock the major objective is to control body weight, particularly to ensure that all the birds reach target weight-for-age uniformly. Body weight targets are achieved by controlling feed allowances. Feed amounts during rearing are based on body weight and maintenance; during lay, egg production and egg weight are also important

Principles 

1. The sheds in the poultry house environment should be located that the fresh air first passes through the brooder shed, followed by grower and layer sheds. This will prevent the spread of diseases from layer houses to brooder house

2. There should be a minimum distance of 50-100 feet between chick and grower shed and the distance between grower and layer sheds should be of minimum 100 meter

3. The egg store room, office room and the feed store room should be located near entrance to minimize the movement of people around the poultry farm sheds

4. The disposal pit and sick room should be constructed only at the extreme end of the side of the chicken cage 

5. Feeders and waterers should be attached to the chicken cage from outside except nipple waterers, for which pipeline is installed through or above chicken cages

6. Auto-operated feeding trolleys and egg collection belts can also be used in this chicken cage

7. The droppings are either collected in trays underneath chicken cages or on belts or on the floor or deep pit under chicken cages, depending on type of chicken cages

8. This system involves rearing of poultry farm on raised wire netting floor in smaller compartments, called chicken cages, either fitted with stands on floor of house or hanged from the roof
